Tips
on Serving Christ in an E-Mail Ministry
Many believers who want
to serve the Lord via e-mail end up doing more harm than
good. Here are some helpful tips to make your
cyber-ministry more effective.
Don't Share Your
Mailing List
If you're mailing to more than one person, hide thre
addresses from all recipients by using Bcc (Blind
Copies). Otherwise all the addresses are seen by everyone
and that makes some of us very uncomfortable! Secondly,
all those addresses make the e-mail take a lot of disc
space.
Forget the
Forward
Most folks hate forwarded messages, but invariably the
best ones have been forwarded so many times you can
hardly read them! Be considerate! If the message is worth
sending on, take the time to copy it and past it into a
new message.
SPAM is a Four
Letter Word
If you think you're doing a good work for the
Lord by sending out unsolicited e-mail to folks you don't
know, think again. No one likes having their mailbox
filled with unwanted junk mail... You're not doing God
any favors by being rude in His name!
NIX the Hoax
Believers fall easy prey to scams and hoaxes. Be
careful what you pass on. Tricksters love to spread
tear-jerker stories. Check out everything before passing
it on.
Keep it Short
Long e-mails are rarely read in full, so try to send
short inspirational pieces rather than long articles.
